These are samples of some of the looks (Size, Color, Coat Type) obtainable from the Bichon/Shih Tzu cross dogs.
The predominately Shih Tzu percentage can have a short to medium nose and a wavy coat, deeper color and a laid back temperament. This means it matures at around 1 1/2 years of age and requires less attention than the other two types of Bichon/Shih Tzu crosses at maturity.
The higher percentage Bichon cross dogs have medium to long noses depending on their parents. They are available in wavy, loose curl and curly coat types, but most important, they have a higher activity level, therefore they can take 3 to 4 years to mature and settle down.
Our "middle of the road" type of Bichon/Shih Tzu cross which can have a short (1" nose bridge), medium (2"nose bridge) or long (3" nose bridge) but has average activity and attention needs, matures at 2 years of age and suits most family situations. Coats vary from wavy to loose curl.
All our dogs come in solid or patch colors of black, white, various shades of gold, red and apricot. You may request the color you want by name or tell us what you do not want. All our dogs are available in very small (10" at shoulder, 8 to 9 lbs.), small ( 10" at shoulder, 10 to 12 lbs.), average (11" at shoulder, 13 to 15 lbs.), or large ( 12" at shoulder, 16 to 25 lbs.), size They all have beautiful big brown eyes and a loving disposition.
These dogs are non-shedding so they need professional grooming at least every 3 months. The longer you leave the coat the more brushing you will need to do. Many people have the coats cut in either a puppy cut or a teddy cut.
People can be allergic to these dogs depending on the severity of the allergy, because there is nothing you cannot be allergic to including purebred Bichons, Poodles etc. What this breed offers is less of a chance of a reaction - compared to shedding dogs, cats etc. and that still rests with the individual person. We do however, offer a lifetime return with all our dogs, that covers allergies or any other reason you can not keep your dog.
As with any cross breeding, there is a greatly reduced risk of major chronic genetic health problems, taking into account the health of the parent dogs and the role of recessive genes.
All puppies have had their first shot or any due up to age, veterinarian checked, health and temperament guarantee, and lifetime return.
Puppies average $1000 to $1250 plus gst (some exceptions may apply)
